Update: Last year i said i was going to start setting stones. Well as of last night I have started

 This is a 24.6carat  Emerald that I set last night. I have several Sapphires that I will be setting as well. So please keep an eye out for those. I will be listing them on etsy as soon as they are finished.

Standing Stone State Park is located in Standing Stone State Forest on the Cumberland Plateau. The park takes its name from the Standing Stone, a 12 foot tall rock standing upright on a sandstone ledge, which was supposedly used as a boundary line between two Indian nations. When the rock fell, the Indians placed a portion of it upon an improvised monument to preserve it. The stone is still preserved in nearby Monterrey, Tenn.

In the 1930s, Standing Stone was an area plagued with soil erosion and sub-marginal lands. With the assistance of the Civilian Conservation Corps, the Work Projects Administration (WPA), the Resettlement Administration and U.S. Forest Service, the area was made productive again. Standing Stone State Park has more than eight miles of day-use hiking trails, providing access to some of the park’s loveliest areas. Trails range from easy to strenuous and pass into virgin woods through vivid wildflowers and over-flowing streams and around beautiful Standing Stone Lake. There is boating, fishing, swimming and hiking. There are magnificent views.

 There are SO many places to launch your boat! 

It has 27,700 acres of crystal clear water and 24,842 acres of untouched surrounding land
 World record sized Small Mouthed Bass Islands and cliffs galore. A cold water Fish Hatchery that sends over 40,000 pounds of various trout species into neighboring waters. It is under 2 hours away from Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga. 

You can fish out of the lake, the Obey river or the Cumberland river, for a wide range of fish including trout, catfish, small and large mouth bass, and crappie . There are several recreation areas, such as Donaldson Park, which has a place to launch your boat, a basket ball court, tennis court, and playground. If you come during the winter months you can enjoy a boat ride around the lake and see the see the beautiful golden and bald eagles nesting, even during the summer you can see them flying around.

I know

    I know that some of my post have been off topic but tonight I thought I would tell you all a little more about me. My name is Maggie, but my nickname is Cat. I am a nineteen year old goth, and I have been making jewelry since I was twelve. I started selling jewelry last year to earn a little bit of money. Most of my inspiration comes from nature, and most of the jewelry I make is gemstone and stone. Some of it is made with rough stones still in the raw and some of it is made with tumbled stones. I love working with the stones when I'm making a new piece and I fuss over choosing just the right stone each and every time.
 
    As time goes on, I am learning new and better techniques, as well as using new stones. I love undertaking a new challenge when it comes to making the jewelry, even though I'm not always successful in learning the technique. Of course from time to time you will see something other than jewelry appear in one of my stores. Like wax tarts I have in my esty store or a hand sewn item that I have put together. I love crafting and making things with my hands.

Another thing I would like to mention to all of you who like powder eye shadows please check out Esoteric Aesthetic over on etsy. The owner makes some really great eye shadows. 

March Is Irish-American Heritage Month!!!

I have just discovered something that is wonderful its called Irish -American Heritage Month, which is this month. As someone who is very proud of my Irish roots I am thrilled to have discovered this, but sadly it doesn't get them same recognition as many other ethnic heritage months. Many people do not even know about it. I know that there are millions of Americans with Irish ancestry and with such a wonderful history that deserves to be celebrated it would be amazing if we could all work together to bring this more recognition. snow snow and more snow

    I know many people her in the U.S. are experiencing a winter storm/wonderland, depending on your age. Even though the snow is fun for children of all ages to play in, it also has hindered me in getting the supplies to make the wax melts so there will be a delay in the release. I will get the scents out as soon as I can.

   Even though the wax melts are going to be delayed, I am still working on new ideas for jewelry and I will be releasing them periodically on my Esty Store. I also have my spring collection on my store already.

Favorite colors and stones?

I would like to know what everyone's favorite stones and their favorite colors are? Stones come in all sorts of colors and styles from the iridescent moonstone to the deep blue sapphire, from the deep green emeralds to to dark maroon of garnets, from the pink of rose quartz to the black of onyx, from the yellows of citrine to the purple of amethyst, from the reds of rubies to the gold of tiger eye. There is a rainbow of colors in gemstones you have some stones that come in a multitude of colors like the garnet,topaz, diamonds, tiger eye, quartz, crystal, opal.

I am working on

I am working on a new scent called  fresh baked vanilla sugar cookie . It should be released by the beginning of march with my other scents that you can already get on etsy.

I just listed the first in the line of Cat's Wax Cubes the scents i listed were

 Daydreams which  has the smell you would expect if you went for a walk through the would when the mulberry bushes are heavy with their fruit.

Gummy Bear which smells like a bag full of freshly opened gummy bears. It has a sweet smell with undertones of a apple and cherries mix.

Cherry Delight which smells like very sweet smelling cherries. The scent is strong but not overwhelming its very sweet but its not got the bitter scent that some cherry scents have.

Well

My first batch of Cherry Delight Wax Cubes has just finished and set to cool. My entire work space smells like cherries and they are very sweet smelling. The scent is strong but not overwhelming its very sweet but its not got the bitter scent that some cherry wax has.

Update

Well as of last night the Spring 2015 is now live. I got everything listed on my Etsy store. So please check it out. I will have my Cat's Wax Cubes out by the end of next week. These are some scents that will be there Country Kitchen, Warm Vanilla Bean ,Fresh Sugar Cookies, Cherry Delight, and Country Apple Pie. I will be listing them in my Etsy store.

Spring Collection

Starting tomorrow I will have released some of the Spring 2015 Collection on my Etsy store. I will release it into its own shop section. The collection  is made of both gemstones and glass. I am also still accepting custom orders for those you can either contact me on etsy or by email at catsjewelrystore@gmail.com. I also will be releasing several wax scents in the upcoming weeks so keep an eye out for those as well. There will be one limited edition scent as well as some that will be regular scents. I will be releasing my spring collection

I will be releasing my spring 2015 collection January 15, so all of my customers have a chance to get them before spring is in full swing. All of the jewelry I create is made my hand so no two pieces are the same and I will ship internationally. Update : Wax Melts

I have got a Limited Edition scent and one scent that will be a regular scent. The first regular scent will be Cinnamon Stick. Cinnamon Stick smells like fresh grated warm cinnamon.

The Limited Edition scent is called Country Kitchen and it smells like warm cinnamon apples with undertones of cherries
